New look for the TDSB Virtual Library
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the look and feel of the new Virtual Library. The Virtual Library is a portal of resources for K-12 students, educators and parents. It opens a wide world of differentiated resources including the school catalogue, e-books, journal databases, encyclopedias, streamed media, and recommended webpages. I like to call it “no excuses” – with the Virtual Library students should be able find find information and reading resources to support their curriculum expectations – 24/7.
Things to look for (these are my favorites – you could have others):
- The link to your school’s catalogue.
- The Francais button presents the French language resources (remember to do a subject search for subscription resources and websites).
- In Search, refine your search to find the most appropriate resource by grade, by type of resource and by subject. Very quickly you can discover the great resources to support the curriculum and reading levels for students.
- In Spaces, look for Educator (for example) and discover links to a variety of ‘teacher’ resources like the Professional Library, Teaching Resources (formerly Medianet), OERB and Les Plan.
