Check out these 3 new books :

EXPlore like a pirate: Gamification and game-inspired course design to engage, enrich and elevate your learners (Micheal matera, 2015).

  • From page 7: “Gamification is possible in any classroom because creativity is the wind that powers the sails. … You will learn to create opportunities for students to explore, practice, and embody skills like confidence, focus, resilience, dependability, curiosity and empathy while working collaboratively towards a common goal.”

What connected educators do differently (Whitaker, Casa,Zoul, 2015).

  • From page 131: “To gain access to the best ideas in education today – and to share your own voice, offering ideas that you have seen work – you must be connected beyond your immediate network of colleagues”.

Using social media in the classroom; A best practice guide (Megan Poore, 2016)

  • From page xi: “it covers everything from theory and pedagogy, to everyday practice; it describes the ‘big stuff’ of blogs, wikis, social networks, and podcasting – and how those things can support longer-term classroom projects – and it details the ‘small stuff’ that can give you quick classroom wins, such as instant messaging, Pintrest, Twitter, mind mapping, and document sharing.”
